  • Vice President (N1QD): Noted that NEARFest in New Boston, NH, is two weeks away.
  • Secretary (NV1W): The club has 129 members.

The treasurer reimbursed himself $342 for the following expenses related to Field Day: $248 for a new 40 meter dipole, new rope for hanging antennas, gas and oil for the generator including one gallon of gas for long-term storage, and crimp connectors for the patch panel. These expenses have all been previously approved.

Old business

  • No old business.

New business

  • No new business.

Joe, N1QD, gave a recap of 2026 Field Day, which he described as the best the club has done in his twenty years as a member of BARC, both in QSOs and points. We had approxiumately 1900 QSOs, with most on 40 meters and CW leading the per-mode totals. Foreign QSOs included one with New Zealand. Shirley, KE1L, noted that his was the first year we’ve had two antennas on 40 meters, and the second one appears to have been worth the trouble to put up.

NW1S, NV1W, W1PAC, and KC1ZXR gave recaps of the club’s POTA outings this summer.

Dan, AC1JL, went to Huntsville this year, and Patrick, W1PAC, went to Dayton. Shirley, KE1L, went to both events and also to Four Days in May, a QRP event associated with the Dayton Hamvention.

Justin, WJ1GFO, gave a presentation on his POTA activity over the past few months since he upgraded to General: 25 activation attempts with 23 successful. He also noted that he is building Meshtastic/Meshcore nodes and is willing to make them for any member at cost, probably in the $60–$70 range.

Congratulations were extended to Matthew Bennett, KD1ADX, on passing his Technician and to Peggy, KC1YPD, on her upgrade to General.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:59 p.m.
